We’re looking for a talented Lifestyles Assistant to join our team and help create fun, meaningful, and engaging experiences for our residents. From games and crafts to music sessions and exciting outings, you’ll play a key role in delivering activities that enrich daily life and promote well‑being. Location: Osbern Manor, 26-28 Hoath Lane, Wigmore, Gillingham ME8 0SW

Hours: 24 hours per week

Pay: £13.20 per hour

Contract: Part-time

Shift: Days (9am to 5.30pm, including some weekends)

In this rewarding role, you’ll help plan and deliver a vibrant programme of activities that enrich daily life for our residents. Working closely with the Lifestyles Manager, you’ll support the organisation of key events, encourage residents to build confidence in social settings, and develop new activity ideas based on their personal hobbies and interests. Whether you’re organising a group craft session, leading musical activities, supporting an art or knitting club, or inspiring residents one‑to‑one, you’ll bring warmth, creativity, and genuine kindness to everything you do.

We’re looking for someone with experience supporting vulnerable individuals, ideally with a background in designing or delivering activity programmes. A love for music, plenty of creativity, and the confidence to run both group and 1‑2‑1 sessions are essential. You’ll need excellent organisational, planning, and IT skills, along with basic photography abilities and the capacity to manage your time effectively. Above all, your positive energy, compassion, and ability to build strong relationships will help residents feel supported and empowered.

What you will be doing:

  • Supporting residents to live life to the fullest.
  • Encouraging and empowering residents to take part in meaningful activities.
  • Assisting residents with their individual lifestyle choices.
  • Understanding residents’ personal needs, interests, and preferences.
  • Planning, arranging, and facilitating a diverse range of activities.
  • Accompanying residents on weekly trips and outings.
  • Leading group and one‑to‑one activities.
  • Helping create new activity ideas and activity packs.
  • Setting up for events, talks, and social gatherings.

What you need to succeed:

  • Experience working with people in a person‑centred way.
  • A willingness to learn and work towards an S/NVQ qualification if not already achieved.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and support people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Confidence with practical day‑to‑day tasks involved in activity delivery.
