About the team:

OSB Group has embarked on a significant technology transformation programme and we have a new opportunity to join our Group Transformation team as a Backend Engineer. The role reports into the Principal Engineer and will work alongside colleagues in both the UK and India to support the delivery of the Lending and Savings roadmap. The role has the flexibility to be based from Wolverhampton or Chatham office and benefits from our hybrid-working policy of three days a week in the office and two days from home which provides a great opportunity for collaboration and development of your skills.

What you will be doing:

As a Backend Engineer, you will work alongside experienced engineers to contribute to the development, testing and enhancement of our microservices architecture, system performance and cloud-based (Azure) deployments. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, high-quality Spring Boot microservices
  • Integrating and optimising back-end components for seamless user experience
  • Working with cloud platforms, specifically Azure, to deploy and manage applications
  • Ensuring code is well-documented and adheres to established coding standards
  • Troubleshooting and developing solutions to support issues and bugs to ensure a seamless user experience
