What you will be doing:
As an Underwriter (Tier 2) you will have the opportunity to facilitate and progress mortgage applications, within the assigned mandate level, through to mortgage offer, and completion where applicable, in line with the Bank\’s operating procedures and policies and the Mortgage Credit Directive.
You will work within a supportive and engaged team, with access to a clear progression matrix to drive your development.
Your responsibilities will include…
- Learning and developing underwriting skills, via training and coaching, with a view to obtaining own personal Lending mandate.
- Underwriting allocated applications to offer, within assigned mandate level and agreed service standards, requesting further information from relevant stakeholders where required and verifying this on receipt.
- Presenting cases to the Underwriting Manager for guidance and approval where appropriate.
- Offering mortgages to approved borrowers, within assigned mandate level and agreed service standards, requesting any outstanding information if required and verifying it on receipt.
- Communicating with intermediaries by telephone and in writing, handle objections and provide objective feedback to any questions.
- Managing escalations and resolve technical queries from other team members.
What\’s in it for you?
We offer a base salary dependent on experience of between £ 34,000 – £ 37,000 and a competitive benefits package including:
