About the team

The Infrastructure Operations team comprises Server & Systems, Virtualisation & Storage, Citrix & SharePoint/Web Services — all vital for the Bank\’s operations.

The Group Head of Infrastructure Operations manages these teams, ensuring service levels meet group standards.

You will support the Group Head of Technology Services, contribute to quality assurance, and implement a total quality management framework, playing a strategic and operational role.

This role is based in Chatham or Wolverhampton, with travel across sites.

What you will be doing

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing solutions to challenges
  • Developing infrastructure plans, policies, and procedures
  • Mitigating risks with effective controls
  • Driving service improvement and continuous enhancement
  • Analyzing data to support quality frameworks
  • Supporting staff development and wellbeing initiatives
  • Managing resources, scheduling, and staffing for high demand
  • Participating directly in project management, budgeting, and DR testing
  • Leading technical teams during change management
  • Operationalizing and developing the IT Operations Strategy
  • Collaborating globally to build and maintain infrastructure systems
  • Translating organizational goals into team expectations through coaching and performance management
  • Ensuring compliance with Risk and Data Governance policies
  • Maintaining compliance standards and completing mandatory training
  • Managing and coaching direct reports, overseeing performance and recruitment
  • Acting as Risk Champion and Vendor Relationship Owner, ensuring adherence to policies and security standards

In return for your commitment

We offer a salary from £80,000 to £90,000, plus benefits including:

  • Discretionary bonus up to 25%
  • 30 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Private Medical Insurance and Cash Plan
  • Maternity & Adoption Leave at full pay for 13 weeks, then 50% for 13 weeks
  • Paternity Leave: 4 weeks
  • Additional benefits such as hybrid working, schemes, and employee perks
