The team operates across both the UK and India, working as a single, integrated function. This collaborative model allows us to draw on a broad range of expertise, maintain consistent standards, and deliver high-quality assurance across the Group.
The Credit Risk Assurance Team is a core part of Group Risk Assurance Function, providing independent, risk-based assurance over the Bank's credit risk management and controls. Through a structured annual assurance plan, the team delivers targeted reviews across high-risk portfolios, processes and decision points, ensuring material credit risks receive robust scrutiny and challenge. Joining the team means working with credit and assurance specialists across the UK and India to strengthen the Bank's credit control environment, promote consistency, and give senior stakeholders confidence that key credit risks are being effectively managed.

The role is based in Chatham or Wolverhampton, and will require occasional travel to third parties, and to other business sites for meetings or training.
Your responsibilities include:
- Credit Assurance Plan: Independently delivering and leading timely and robust Credit Assurance thematic reviews across the Group to assess the effectiveness of the Groups credit risk management practices, controls and programmes to confirm that the Group is operating within its policies and procedures and in line with applicable regulations. This includes the assessment of customer outcome across the full product lifecycle when necessary. Draft the Risk Assurance Review Notification (RARN) to a high professional standard. Produce high quality final assurance reports that clearly articulate findings, risks, and recommendations. Ensure assurance reviews are completed to the required standard and within agreed timelines.
- Risk Assessment and Management: Playing an active part in risk assessments, in collaboration with the Risk Assurance Senior Leadership team, identifying, quantifying, and prioritising financial and non-financial risks with a particular focus on credit risk.

Engage with stakeholders and manage their expectations throughout the review cycle. Provide regular updates to stakeholders on the progress of assurance reviews.
- Team Leadership and Development: Working very closely with the Risk Assurance Officers within the team, providing mentorship, support, and direction to ensure high-quality work and professional development. Take accountability for your work while leading by example to support a high-performance team culture.
