Orwins is growing its national practice and we are looking for an experienced banking and finance lawyer to join us at partner level and help establish what will be a significant part of our commercial offering. We do law differently — commercially focused, client-first and built around a collaborative partner culture where people are genuinely invested in each other's success. Banking and finance work sits naturally alongside our growing property, insolvency and commercial practices, and we are looking for someone who can build a quality practice for lenders, borrowers and other financial stakeholders.

What This Looks Like

  • Building and leading the firm's banking and finance practice — advising lenders, borrowers, funds and other financial parties on a range of secured and unsecured lending transactions.
  • Acting on real estate finance, development finance, acquisition finance and asset-based lending transactions.
  • Working closely with the property, corporate and insolvency teams on matters with a banking and finance dimension.
  • Developing and growing a banking and finance client base — the firm has a growing property and commercial client portfolio that generates natural demand for finance advice.
  • Contributing to a partner group that is collaborative, ambitious and invested in the firm's collective growth.

What We Are Looking For

A banking and finance lawyer with strong transactional experience, a commercial approach and an established or developing client base — particularly in real estate finance or acquisition finance. You want to build something, not just maintain something.

What You Will Get

At Orwins, we invest in our people just as much as our future. Our future is our people. This is a firm where your voice is heard, your contribution is recognised, and your development is taken seriously — not just talked about. You will get genuine access to our C-Suite, senior partners, leaders, experts and clients from day one, working closely with a team that values expertise, supports each other and takes pride in doing things well. We are growing fast, and the people who join us will grow with us too.

  • A competitive remuneration package, commensurate with your experience and the firm’s growth plans.
  • 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays and your birthday off — increasing with service.
  • Private Medical Insurance through Vitality.
  • Cash plan through Medicash.
  • EAP scheme (open to family members).
  • Referral bonuses.
  • Enhanced wellbeing and family-friendly policies.
  • Salary sacrifice pension through NEST.
  • Hybrid working — we trust you to know where you do your best work.
  • Fresh, open plan offices across Manchester, Finchley and Reading.
  • CSR events and summer and winter colleague celebrations.
  • A people-focused, collaborative culture that makes coming to work genuinely worth it.

Confidential conversations welcome.
