As a Care Assistant at our Extra Care service, Swann House, you'll support customers to live fulfilling, independent lives in the comfort of their own homes.

You'll be part of a friendly, supportive team that puts each tenant's wellbeing at the heart of everything they do. Swann House is an Extra Care service situated in the market town of Saxmundham, in the heart of Suffolk's Heritage Coast region. The service is set on a quiet residential road and is less than half a mile from the town centre, which offers a good range of amenities including shops, cafés, public houses and a GP surgery. Saxmundham also benefits from excellent transport links, with a bus stop approximately 200 yards from the service and regular local bus routes connecting the town with Leiston, Aldeburgh and surrounding villages.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide support with daily living, including personal care, mobility, social activities, mealtimes and medication.
  • Use clear communication, listening and observation skills, including recording and reporting in care plans.
  • Support people with a range of health needs, including dementia, mental health conditions and end‑of‑life care.
  • Maintain an understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and act appropriately.
  • Contribute to person‑centred care planning focused on individual needs rather than tasks.

  • 22 days annual leave (pro rata). Please note that bank‑holiday work will be required as part of this role.
