Introduction

Orwell is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Property Services Maintenance Apprentice to join our Repairs Service Team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is practical, eager to learn, customer-focused and keen to make a difference in local communities.

About the Employer

Orwell is an housing association with around 4500 properties.

Our job within the repairs department is to carry out any repairs that our needed within these.

We have around 25 people in the repairs team ranging from operatives, laborers and apprentices.

What You'll Do

  • Main Roles and Responsibilities
  • To assist in the day-to-day work of the team.
  • To be fully conversant in Orwell's system for prioritising repairs and to assist in ensuring works orders are within the specified completion timescales.
  • To study for a recognised qualification.
  • To comply with Orwell's Health & Safety policy, and to carry out activities in a safe manner.
  • To liaise daily with the logistics team regarding diary commitments for each day.
  • To actively engage in learning how to use equipment required correctly and safely such as hand tools, power tools and any other equipment as required.
  • Training Outcome

If at time of completion of apprenticeship an opportunity is available for a Multiskilled Craftsperson or Multiskilled Tradesperson, the apprentice would be encouraged to apply and go through the selection process (please note an offer is not guaranteed and will depend on the opportunities available at the time).
