Quantity Surveyor – Groundworks Stowmarket, Suffolk £40,000 to £55,000 plus package OR878 Our client is a well established groundworks contractor based in the Stowmarket area. Due to continued expansion, they are looking for an experienced groundworks quantity surveyor to join their commercial team. You will be expected to take commercial control of groundworks project throughout Norfolk and Suffolk. The company predominantly work within the residential and commercial sectors. The company is progressive in its outlook and can offer flexible working hours. ROLE: * Dealing with subcontractor orders and general paperwork * Management of companies cost ledger * Procurement of materials * Creating monthly applications towards client and understanding and developing project budgets * Dealing with client queries related to scope of works – good understanding of BoQ and SoW * Develop long term and mutually beneficial relationships with clients * Increase the possibility of repeat business * Keeping in-step with the needs and concerns of your client resulting in client satisfaction CANDIDATE: * Degree qualified * At least 5 years experience working as a QS * Excellent numeracy and financial management skills * Excellent communication, problem solving and negotiation skills * Groundworks or civils experience (residential/commercial also preferable) * Pre and post contract experience * A working knowledge of Quantity Surveying through job experience or training
