The role has responsibility for the management of a portfolio of Orvia Underwriting Ltd Bureau and Non-Bureau Insurer accounts reporting to the IBA Manager.

The primary purpose of the role is the settlement and collection of Ardonagh Specialty premiums and return premiums to/from both Bureau and Non-Bureau insurance markets. This includes responsibility for arranging appropriate payments to Non-Bureau insurers, account reconciliation, identification and completion of potential offsets, cash allocation, and resolution of queries. The role is also responsible for working with the Business Units to resolve queries preventing the release of collected Bureau premiums and the allocation of signings that do not auto match.

Key Role Accountabilities

  • Perform reconciliations of Non-Bureau insurers statements received.
  • Follow up on actions and queries as required from the reconciliation.
  • Arrange payment of payable balances to the Non-Bureau insurers and produce suitable documentation to provide to the insurers to enable reconciliation.
  • Ensure any premium subject to a PPW/PPC is settled in accordance with the payment terms.
  • Collect return premiums from Non-Bureau insurers promptly and within agreed procedures and timeframes.
  • Identify and action suitable offsets on the Non-Bureau Insurer ledgers to ensure debtor balances are collected promptly.
  • Settle balances to Bureau insurers in accordance with department procedures and raise queries with the appropriate Business Unit in relation to any collected premium or treaty balance that cannot be released.
  • Liaise with insurers, the IBA Client Team and Business Unit to resolve queries on the insurer statements.
  • Handle Notice of Cancellations to conclusion including liaising with the relevant departments.
  • Contact insurers using various written and verbal mechanisms to obtain the necessary information to resolve queries.
  • Keep suitable records of all communications sent including the updating of the applicable PAS query notes.
  • Build and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of the project.
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate group policies and procedures.
  • Ensure successful completion of training and assessment exercises as assigned from the Compliance and Training Departments.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous IBA experience is required together with experience of handling Bureau IBA and Reinsurance accounts.
  • Global XB & Websure system knowledge preferable but not essential.

Person Specification

  • MS Office skills.
