Ortus PSR are working in partnership with a leading national wealth management business to appoint an experienced Senior Financial Planner into their London office. This opportunity has arisen due to the planned retirement of a long-standing Senior Planner and offers the successful individual the rare opportunity to inherit and develop a substantial portfolio of high-net-worth clients within a highly respected and fast-growing wealth management firm.

The role is focused on the long-term stewardship of existing client relationships, ensuring continuity of advice and service through a structured transition period before supporting the continued growth and development of the client bank over time. This is an outstanding opportunity for an adviser who enjoys working with sophisticated clients, values relationship-led advice and wants to operate within a highly professional, well-supported and growth-oriented environment.

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will inherit responsibility for an established portfolio of approximately 100 family groups, with individual client assets typically ranging from c.£500,000 to £20m and total assets under management of approximately £140m. To support a successful transition and maximise client retention, the role includes a structured handover period working closely alongside the retiring adviser. The focus during this period will be on client introductions, relationship development and ensuring continuity across key relationships.

The Role

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and developing long-standing relationships with high-net-worth clients and families
  • Leading a structured client transition process alongside the retiring adviser
  • Delivering holistic financial planning advice across retirement, investment, tax and estate planning
  • Conducting ongoing review meetings and maintaining suitability across client portfolios
  • Retaining and growing existing assets under management
  • Identifying opportunities for additional planning and relationship growth within the existing client bank
  • Supporting wider business development activity through referrals, professional connections and networking
  • Working collaboratively with investment, paraplanning and operational teams to deliver an exceptional client experience
  • Confidently discussing investment strategy, portfolio positioning and broader market themes with sophisticated investors
