About Us
Ortus Health provides high-quality, remote clinical services to GP practices across the UK. Our mission is to support general practice by improving access, reducing pressure on clinicians, and delivering safe, efficient patient care through innovation and teamwork. We are seeking experienced and well-organised GPs to join our remote team. As a Remote Salaried GP with Ortus Health, you will make clinical decisions that directly influence patient outcomes. You’ll be part of a dynamic, supportive team, working remotely but closely connected to the practices we serve.
You will be responsible for reviewing patient contacts across multiple GP practices. This means maintaining clinical oversight, understanding varying local pathways, and staying alert to risk in a busy and fast-moving environment. It may mean days that do not look the same or are similar, and you will adapt to the needs of the organisation. The work may initially be more administrative e.g., documents, pathology, EPS, prescription review etc. This is a remote role with flexible working arrangements. Sessions can be tailored around your existing portfolio career or other commitments.
The Role
- Complete administrative work including document review, pathology filing, EPS, prescription review etc.
- Complete telephone appointments
- Issue prescriptions, fit notes, referrals, and safety-netting advice
- Triage patient requests
- Escalate complex or high-risk cases appropriately
- Adapt to different clinical systems (e.g., EMIS, SystmOne) and local processes
- Accurately document consultations in line with GMC and practice standards
- Audit the work of the rest of the team, including other GPs, pharmacists and care coordinators
Requirements
- Minimum 2 days a week commitment
- Full GMC registration with a license to practise
- NHS England GP Performers List inclusion
- At least 2 years post-CCT (preferred)
- Experience with remote consultations
- Ability to manage clinical risk safely in a remote environment
- Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne, or other GP clinical systems like Accurx, Patchs, eConsult etc.
- Excellent time management and attention to detail
