Are you an experienced Private Wealth lawyer ready to lead and shape a fast-growing national practice? Ortus Group has been retained by a progressive, full-service law firm seeking a Partner to become the new national Head of Private Client to drive strategy, growth, and excellence across a multi-office team. This is a Partner-level leadership role for a forward-thinking solicitor with the vision, empathy, and commercial acumen to unify and expand an established practice.
The Law firm is an ambitious and forward-looking law firm that has recently embarked on a significant strategic growth transformation. Having grown from £12 million to £20+ million turnover in the last three years, the partners already demonstrate a track record of making strong lateral hires and supporting Heads of Department to build out practice areas. This illustrates both the effectiveness of the firm’s strategic approach and its ability to integrate senior talent successfully.
The Opportunity: You’ll lead a talented, multi-location team advising high-net-worth individuals and families on estate planning, trusts, tax, and probate. Your remit will include:
- Setting and executing the Private Wealth strategy in line with firmwide growth ambitions.
- Inspiring, mentoring, and developing a collaborative, high-performing team across multiple offices.
- Driving business development and strengthening relationships with clients and referrers.
- Overseeing seamless integration of new hires and supporting post-acquisition transitions.
- Championing innovation — including the intelligent use of technology and AI in client delivery.
This is a role for a leader who wants to make a tangible impact, uniting people, enhancing client service, and helping shape the firm’s next phase of growth.
About You: You will be:
- An England & Wales qualified solicitor with 9+ years’ PQE in Private Wealth / Private Client work.
- Experienced in advising HNW and UHNW clients and managing complex estates.
- A proven leader with the ability to inspire teams and foster a values-led, ego-free culture.
- Commercially astute with a strong record of client origination and business development.
- STEP-qualified (or equivalent experience).
- An existing network of referrers or clients is advantageous but not essential.
Why This Firm? You’ll join a people-first, growth-oriented law firm where leadership is about inspiration, not hierarchy. The culture prizes collaboration, trust, and innovation — and leaders are empowered to think strategically and build something lasting.
If you’re ready to lead a nationally recognised Private Wealth team into its next chapter, we’d love to hear from you. Confidential discussions welcomed. Please contact Dan Sill for further information.
