Ortus Group has been exclusively retained by a leading City law firm to appoint an ambitious Construction Associate to join its highly regarded Real Estate practice. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a collaborative and well-established construction team acting for an impressive portfolio of developers, housebuilders, commercial clients, entrepreneurs, high-net-worth individuals, contractors and construction professionals.
The role offers exposure to a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious construction matters, making it ideal for a solicitor looking to develop a genuine specialist practice while working alongside recognised experts in the field.
The successful candidate will work closely with experienced partners while managing their own caseload and advising clients across a diverse range of construction matters:
- Construction disputes
- Adjudications under the Construction Act
- Proceedings in the Technology and Construction Court (TCC)
- Disputed accounts
- Delay and extension of time claims
- Professional negligence claims
- JCT building contracts and other construction agreements
- Performance bonds
The firm is keen to speak with construction solicitors who have experience across both contentious and non-contentious matters and are looking to further their career within a supportive, high-performing team.
Key requirements include:
- Experience advising on both contentious and non-contentious construction matters
- Strong technical knowledge and commercial awareness
- Experience drafting and negotiating construction documentation
- A genuine interest in business development and networking
- Experience of insurance law would be advantageous but is by no means essential.
