At Ortus Group, we don't believe legal recruitment is about sending CVs. We partner with some of the UK's leading law firms, advising on growth strategies, succession planning, team builds and partner-level appointments. As our business continues to grow, we are looking to add an ambitious legal recruiter to the team.
Legal recruitment isn't something we do. Unlike many recruitment businesses that operate across multiple sectors and disciplines, Ortus Group is exclusively focused on the legal profession. Every conversation we have, every search we undertake and every relationship we build is within the legal market.
Our team specialises in senior legal recruitment and partner-level search. We spend our time advising law firm leaders on growth strategies, succession planning, team moves and key strategic hires. As a result, we have developed a depth of market knowledge, network and insight that generalist recruiters simply cannot replicate.
We know the firms, we know the lawyers, we understand the personalities, cultures and commercial drivers that influence hiring decisions, and we understand what genuinely motivates lawyers to consider a move. This expertise allows us to deliver a level of advice and market intelligence that goes far beyond recruitment. For the right recruiter, this means joining a business with genuine credibility, an established reputation and access to relationships and opportunities that have been built over many years.
From day one, you will inherit active assignments from a number of our long-standing law firm clients, giving you immediate access to live opportunities and established relationships. Alongside this, you will receive the support, training and autonomy to build your own network, develop your own client base and create a desk that reflects your strengths and ambitions.
Whether you are currently a Legal Recruitment Junior Consultant, Senior Consultant or Principal Consultant, we are interested in speaking with individuals who want to build a long-term career in search and advisory-led recruitment.
- Managing live legal recruitment assignments across private practice.
- Building relationships with lawyers ranging from newly qualified solicitors through to partners and practice heads.
- Advising clients on market conditions, talent mapping and hiring strategies.
- Supporting candidates throughout the recruitment process.
- Developing your own client relationships and identifying growth opportunities.
Previous recruitment experience, ideally within legal recruitment but would consider any professional services recruitment background.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- High levels of professionalism, resilience and commercial awareness.
- Access to established, loyal law firm clients.
- The opportunity to work alongside genuine legal recruitment specialists.
- Exposure to partner-level search and strategic hiring projects.
- Support from experienced legal search professionals.
- Opportunity to build your own network, reputation and practice area.
- A collaborative environment where quality, relationships and reputation come first.
This role would suit an ambitious recruiter who enjoys building relationships, values quality over volume and wants to establish themselves as a recognised expert within the legal sector. If you're looking for a platform where you can build a career, a reputation and long-term client relationships, we'd love to hear from you.
