About the Role
Orton Group is seeking a Senior SISS & Communications Commissioning Engineer with strong technical capability and supervisory leadership potential to support the delivery of rail and infrastructure projects across the UK. This role is centred on the setup, programming, fault‑finding and commissioning of SISS and communications systems, working closely with site operatives, project teams, clients, and Orton management, playing a key role in ensuring that systems are delivered safely, compliantly, and to the highest quality standards. The position will suit an experienced commissioning engineer who takes pride in technical excellence, professionalism, and supporting others on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Setup, configuration, programming, testing, and commissioning of:
- CCTV systems
- Public Address systems
- Data and information systems
- UPS and associated infrastructure
- Technical fault‑finding and problem resolution on live sites
- Providing on‑site technical leadership and supporting engineers and trainees
- Working closely with in‑house electrical and fire discipline colleagues
