Responsibilities

  • Ensure high availability and efficiency of gas engines and related equipment through effective maintenance, fault diagnosis, and resolution.
  • Swiftly respond to faults to optimise operational uptime.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to avoid unnecessary part replacements and reduce downtime.
  • Provide technical support alongside other engineers and escalate issues to the senior field service engineer/operations supervisor.
  • Handle emergency callouts promptly.
  • Manage oil sampling in compliance with established standards.
  • Accurately select, request, and manage parts, returning unused items to reduce waste.
  • Keep van stock tidy and well-documented, promptly reporting any stock discrepancies.
  • Maintain communication with the Operations Supervisor.
  • Document all visits and complete service reports to the required quality and timelines.
  • Ensure all company equipment is well-kept and clean.
  • Maintain and ensure all tooling is calibrated.
  • Support the Operations Supervisor as required and provide staff with technical training when required.
  • Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
  • Occasional overnight stays may be required.
  • 40 hour working week door to door.

Skills & Experience

  • Reasonable level of IT skills.
  • High level of engineering skill with a minimum of 3 years engine experience.
  • High level of mechanical and/or electrical experience.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours when required.
  • NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Qualification.
  • Candidates must have the right to work in the UK and hold a full UK driving license.
  • Preferred: Gas safe registered.
  • Experience with Jenbacher 624 and 616 engines.
  • Experience with MWM 3020 and 2020 engines.
  • HV/LV Experience.
