About the Role

Reporting to the Team Lead (OTIF), the Scientist II will support troubleshooting in the manufacturing of immunohematology and immunoassay products. The role involves analytical science, root‑cause investigations, laboratory operations, and cross‑functional coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and analyse scientific data and perform laboratory operations.
  • Own day‑to‑day ownership activities, including non‑conformances and investigation reports.
  • Provide conclusions and recommendations to the business, documenting results per QuidelOrtho record‑keeping practices.
  • Participate in cross‑functional meetings and prepare quality documentation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and coordinate their implementation.
  • Work 5‑10% of time in the lab environment.
  • Support short‑term and reactive investigations with Operations, Quality and occasionally R&D.
  • Attend audits and assist in audit preparations and findings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Medical Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven leadership capability within regulated technical environments.
  • Strong background in immunoassay/immunohematology, manufacturing processes and audit participation.
  • Experience in laboratory work and statistical analysis using Minitab or equivalent tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and basic computer literacy.
  • Ability to plan own time, adapt to change and meet project timelines.
  • Positive, results‑focused attitude with teamwork and collaboration skills.
