Your new role: As a Field Engineer you will be a key member of the service and support team. You will work in collaboration with the Account Manager, Field Application Specialist(s) and Administration colleagues. You will work mainly at the customers' premises (hospital laboratories) to help with the maintenance, modification, upgrading, repairing and installing of clinical chemistry & transfusion medicine laboratory equipment.
You will join an experienced team of Field Engineers. Within your role you will be responsible for scheduling workload, modifications, and maintenance visits within territory to minimize system down time and maintain high level of customer satisfaction, to meet the key performance indicators (KPI’s) set by service contracts. Some work may be required outside of the territory.
What you’ll be doing:
- Maintaining, modifying, upgrading, repairing & installing equipment (hardware & software) for QuidelOrtho.
- Schedule workload, modifications and maintenance visits within territory to minimize system down time and maintain high level of customer satisfaction, and the KPI’s set by service contracts.
- Meeting all designated Customer Excellence goals, supporting customer retention results.
- Responding to customer requests for service support and schedules together with the Field Service Supervisor / Service Manager.
- Training of customers on their maintenance responsibilities for QuidelOrtho equipment.
- Adhering to all governmental regulations/requirements as well as our own internal Compliance and Quality System.
- Following QuidelOrtho complaint handling procedures relative to complaint identification, documentation, resolution, and escalation.
- Contributing to opportunities for control of expenditure and revenue.
- Supporting Sales activity.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Academic or Professional Qualifications in Electronics, Electromechanics or equivalent experience.
- Experience in Medical Devices Industry, with a knowledge of hospital networks is preferred.
- Experience in IVDR environment is preferred.
- A self-motivated team player. Interacts appropriately with peers, sales counterparts and customers.
- The ability to effectively manage assigned workload within allotted time constraints is essential.
- Interpersonal & Influencing Skills: Must be able to work with people from a wide range of areas from Lab Technician to Principal Biochemist to achieve objectives in any situation.
- Communication Skills: Organizes and expresses ideas clearly (verbal & written).
- Organizational and Industry Knowledge and Experience: Must maintain technical ability across a wide range of disciplines. An openness to new technology and the ability to embrace changing technologies is essential.
- A full driver’s license is essential.
- Fluent in English.
- Fluent with Office 365 software.
