Join us in this role where you’ll project manage commercial scale onshore wind projects from origination, through the development process before handing over to the delivery team. You’ll help deliver the design, planning, and environmental assessment requirements for the development, whilst working closely with our land, legal, grid, technical, and commercial teams, as well as a wide range of external stakeholders to ensure commercial viability of a project. This will include the project risk management, financial management, incl. forecasting and budgeting, as well as effective management of external consultants.

You’ll be part of Project Development where you, together with your colleagues, will manage the development of onshore wind projects within budget from any stage to get it to a ready to build state. As a team, we collaborate, share experience-based knowledge, and embrace learning opportunities for continuous improvement. You’ll play an important role in:

  • Ensuring that all site activities and project deliverables are carried out to the highest standards of safety and in accordance with all relevant legislation.
  • Diligently planning, organising, monitoring, and reporting on all phases of a project’s life cycle.
  • Managing and reporting on all project risks, ensuring management are kept fully abreast of any significant developments.
  • Developing and managing project expenditure and budgeting, assisting in the preparation of business cases for investment expenditure and presenting to Senior Management for investment approval.
  • Negotiating agreements, incl. consultancy contracts, land agreements, and providing input to commercial decisions, ensuring best value is achieved in all of these negotiations.
  • Liaising with external stakeholders e.g., planning authorities, community relations, statutory consultees, or landowners.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • Hold a degree in engineering, sciences, planning, or similar.
  • Have experience in onshore wind in the UK, preferably in a development or consultancy role related to planning, environmental, and technical constraints to development.
  • Have a broad understanding of the different planning regimes in the UK, specifically for onshore wind and solar and the changing policy landscape.
  • Ideally have experience in landowner negotiations or public relations.
  • Have a grasp of renewable project commercials, understand project risks and associated management.
  • Have experience in managing technical and engineering consultants and delivering a project programme on schedule and in line with targets.
