Join us in this role where you’ll take operational responsibility for protection schemes and philosophies for electrical power systems, driving technical excellence, reducing operational risk, and supporting safe, stable power system operation across our critical infrastructure.

You’ll be part of the Transmission & Cables team where you together with your colleagues will ensure the integrity, safety, and performance of Ørsted’s electrical infrastructure, supporting assets in operation and continuous optimisation. As a team, we work collaboratively across disciplines, share deep technical expertise, and take pride in setting high standards for safety, quality, and engineering excellence.
You’ll play an important role in:
- Define, govern, and maintain protection philosophies and technical specifications for electrical systems.
- Protection of electrical equipment and systems, including coordination of protective devices.
- Test, and maintain protective relays and other protection equipment.
- Utilise and update protection schemes for electrical power systems.
- Communication between protective devices and control systems.
- Perform fault analysis and power system studies.
- Monitor and analyse system performance to identify and resolve issues.
- Collaborate with other engineers and technical staff to implement protection strategies.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
To succeed in the role, you:
- Have a completed degree within electrical engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrate in-depth expertise in power system protection and control concepts.
- Apply protection relays and power system analysis tools confidently in complex environments.
- Interpret and apply technical standards and regulatory frameworks effectively.
- Communicate clearly and professionally in English, both written and spoken.
- Take ownership, influence technical direction, and collaborate effectively across stakeholders.
