Join us in this role where you’ll ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operation of our high‑voltage network across onshore and offshore assets, performing planned and reactive maintenance, and providing expert operational support that upholds our strong safety culture.
Welcome to HV Team. You’ll be part of the HV Team supporting OFTO in the UK East Region, where you together with your colleagues will carry out maintenance, switching, and operational supervision on assets up to and including 400 kV. The team brings deep technical expertise and works collaboratively to keep our transmission assets safe, reliable, and high‑performing. As a team, we value trust, clarity, and a shared commitment to safety, creating an environment where everyone contributes to meaningful operational excellence.
You’ll play an important role in:
- ensuring safety for planned and unplanned works on the high‑voltage network
- creating and following high‑voltage switching schedules, and preparing, issuing, and cancelling safety documents
- managing technical reporting, documentation, and analyses of asset conditions
- acting as site supervisor for contractors and working parties across OFTO assets
- performing planned and reactive maintenance on assets up to and including 400 kV
- providing communication and technical support to the wider organisation.
To succeed in the role, you:
- have previous authorisation as a senior authorised person (SAP) from 132 kV to 400 kV
- are a safety‑focused individual with impeccable safety behaviour
- have demonstrable electro‑mechanical competences supported by a portfolio of achievements
- have completed a recognised apprenticeship and HNC/HND in an engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
- preferably have a NEBOSH General Certificate
- have knowledge of HV protection systems and of maintenance management and process control systems.
Please note that this is a shift‑based role with a 7/7 working schedule.
