Join us in this role where you’ll be supporting our offshore and onshore substations in the UK East Region and take responsibility for undertaking all manner of maintenance activities on our Transmission assets. This role is a shift-based role working 2 weeks on 2 weeks off, primarily an offshore based role with occasional offshore work, reporting directly to the Transmission Manager. The role will be split between SOV/Jack up based during the construction phase of the project and daily helicopter transfers for the operational phase.

Welcome to HV Specialists. You’ll be part of Transmission East where you, together with your colleagues, will be Operating and Maintaining assets (on & offshore sub-stations containing HV, LV and Ancillary systems). To include and not limited to statutory and OEM inspections, checks and monitoring on:

  • HV electrical systems
  • LV electrical systems
  • Mechanical, Utility and Ancillary systems
  • Safety equipment

As a team, we manage and maintain the full scope of services over six offshore platforms and two onshore substations working in an environment up to 400kv, working together to continuously learn and develop in a dynamic and fast-paced working environment.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • Supporting 3rd party Service Providers attendance to sites to complete Planned Preventative Maintenance activities
  • Lifting duties, inboard and outboard, including crane, hoist and davit operations
  • General substation duties (e.g. housekeeping, weed killing) activities and ensuring assets are kept in operational condition
  • Assisting and supporting to management of materials and logistics
  • Daily supervisory tasks as person in charge of substation (to include toolbox talks, site inductions, musters and drills)
  • Carrying out remedial/corrective activities on system defects/observations, or support 3rd party attendance to resolve

To succeed in the role, you:

  • Have a mechanical and or electrical technical qualification/s (time served apprentice)
  • Have basic IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or similar
  • Have experience working with operational substations and/or experience within the offshore wind industry
  • Are able to take on increasing levels of responsibility and can document previous responsibility for high-value assets
