Join us in this role where you’ll own, plan, and lead the project to define the Control Point Strategy across the UK and CE to ensure that suitable levels of resilience are achieved. You will create the business case for the strategy and recommend the changes to the Leadership team. Once agreement for the business case is gained, you will plan and manage the delivery of the business case to realise the value.

You’ll be part of the Asset, Surveillance and Control team where you, together with your colleagues, will collaborate with multiple stakeholders and subject matter experts across the business and you will contribute to decision-making, including the development of practices, processes, and procedures, and provide input to the strategic direction of the Asset Surveillance and Control department.

You’ll play an important role in:

  1. Planning and developing the strategy and business case to ensure Control Point resilience across Region Europe, using PMI/APM project management structure and best practices.
  2. Identifying requirements needed from Connection Agreements, Grid Codes, Cyber Security regulation, Physical Security requirements, Critical National Infrastructure Requirements, TASA and OMA Contracts.
  3. Reviewing the existing Generation Surveillance & Control Centre systems to ensure they are fit for purpose and include any changes needed within the business case.
  4. Holding regular Project Boards/Steerco’s with the Region Generation Europe leadership team to gain agreement on the business case.
  5. Leading the project to deliver the business case to realization, including smaller teams and resources needed to complete the project including IT, Operational Technology and the Global Delivery Team.

To succeed in the role, you:

  1. Have experience in delivering either complex or high-risk projects within an agreed time, cost and quality constraint.
  2. Are adaptable when applying your knowledge of project management tools and methodologies, capable of designing a project structure and organization to meet the requirements of the project according to its point in the lifecycle.
  3. Are experienced and credible in dealing with a broad and complex range of stakeholders, with the confidence to engage with senior leaders.
  4. Have a proactive stakeholder engagement approach, seeking out opportunities to effectively communicate and influence, and be used to operating with a high degree of autonomy where there is ambiguity and change in a project.
  5. Have practical experience in actively managing project risks and issues, are able to make decisions, engage in dialogue on risk management strategy, and demonstrate a level of skill beyond simply ‘managing a process’.
  6. Have managed a project through the key stages in its lifecycle, from agreeing vision to project closure and have successfully delivered transformation outcomes, able to understand project objectives and the wider strategic organizational context.
