About the role

We're looking for an experienced, compassionate Somatic Therapist to join our outstanding multidisciplinary team at the UK's only specialist eating disorder clinic rated overall 'Outstanding' by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Responsibilities

  • Develop greater nervous system regulation for clients
  • Reconnect safely with their bodies
  • Process trauma where appropriate
  • Strengthen embodiment throughout recovery
  • Deliver both individual and group interventions
  • Collaborate closely with psychologists, psychotherapists, psychiatrists, dietitians, occupational therapists, nurses and family therapists

Qualifications

  • A recognised qualification in Somatic Therapy, Body Psychotherapy, Dance Movement Psychotherapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing®, or another recognised body-based modality
  • Registration or accreditation with an appropriate professional body (e. g. UKCP, HCPC, BACP or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting adults and/or adolescents with eating disorders or complex mental health presentations
  • Strong trauma-informed practice and knowledge of nervous system regulation
  • Experience facilitating therapeutic groups
  • Excellent collaborative and communication skills
  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) training or accreditation is desirable
