This role can be based at any of our office locations: London, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, York, Glasgow. At ORR we have adopted hybrid working and are currently expected to work from a workplace location for a minimum of two days per week or 40%.
We are looking for a Principal Engineer – Electrification and Power, to join our team of Power, Control and Command Systems engineering experts for Electrical Power, Telecoms and Railway Signalling. We support our Operations, Economic and Safety colleagues to ensure a safe, sustainable and reliable railway.
Reporting to the Head of Power, Control and Command Systems, the role is primarily dealing with holding infrastructure managers (IM’s) such as Network Rail and High Speed 1 to account for the asset management of Electrical & Power systems. The role provides opportunities to work with the industry to help shape the progression of Electrical & Power systems to a more sustainable future and a reliable railway.
The job holder will be working with other ORR departments to provide expert opinion during investigations and Periodic Reviews and be a key part of the Infrastructure Authorisation process.
