We're looking for a highly experienced emergency planning professional to join our specialist Channel Tunnel team. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to contribute to the safety of one of Britain's most vital transport connections with Europe.
The successful candidate will provide expert advice to the Channel Tunnel Safety Authority (CTSA) on emergency management issues, including fire and rescue operations. In this role, you will lead inspections of Channel Tunnel operators' emergency preparedness and response arrangements and offer wider support to ORR on emergency planning across GB rail operations. You will also represent the UK as part of the CTSA delegation.
The postholder will lead a small, multi-disciplinary team, including CTSA inspectors from ORR and the emergency services, and work closely with French counterparts to ensure coordinated, effective regulation of Channel Tunnel operations.
