Site Manager β Construction Project
Role Overview
Responsible for the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of a steel-frame building project, managing day-to-day site activities and ensuring programme, budget, and standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all on-site operations, labour, and subcontractors involved in steel erection, cladding, groundworks, M&E, and finishing trades.
- Ensure all works adhere to construction drawings, structural steel specifications, method statements, and risk assessments.
- Plan site activities, monitor progress against the programme, and report daily / weekly to the Project Manager.
- Lead site health & safety: conduct inductions, toolbox talks, inspections, and enforce compliance with CDM regulations.
- Coordinate material deliveries, crane operations, lifting plans, and site logistics to maintain efficient workflow.
- Maintain accurate site records: diaries, photos, permits, RAMS approvals, and inspection test plans.
- Identify and resolve construction issues promptly, escalating technical problems where needed.
- Liaise with structural engineers, architects, client representatives, and building control.
- Ensure site security, housekeeping, waste management, and environmental compliance.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience managing steel-frame construction projects.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- SMSTS, CSCS (Managers), First Aid, and relevant H&S qualification.
