Sales Executive (Maternity Cover) – Leek, Staffordshire. Contract: temporary to cover maternity leave, approx. 12 months. Salary: generous salary available depending upon experience. Responsibilities
- Join our technical department and help build and develop customer accounts as guided by the Trading Manager to create business opportunities within the UK Food Manufacturing and Food Service industry.
- Assist the team with supply chain and warehousing constraints.
- Assist the Technical Manager with non-conformances, customer setup, and maintenance of customer approvals.
- Build and maintain relationships with key market sectors and decision makers at customer level across functions.
- Oversee customer account management, including negotiating contracts and agreements to maximise profit.
- Research and understand key market data (UK, EU, Oceania) to inform trading decisions.
- Forecast projected volumes per customer per SKU and report forward book position to inform the Trading Manager and General Manager.
- Assist with recalls/crisis response as directed by the Technical Manager.
- Operate according to current Quality & Food Safety policies and procedures as included in the QMS; undertake training on the Food Safety & Quality Policy as required.
- Perform other tasks relevant to the role as needed.
What You Bring To The Role
- Strong business acumen and a positive can-do attitude.
- Ability to negotiate and influence customers and key stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., M3) and Power BI is desirable but not essential.
