Ornua is actively seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer to join our Engineering department as we continue our growth trajectory.As part of our engineering team you will play a key role in; delivering engineering and maintenance to plan and in a timely manner, improving reliability, maximising plant availability and ensuring plant safety compliance.Ornua operates as a commercial organisation from 10 business units worldwide, including 12 production facilities located in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Africa.The commercial organisation is responsible for the marketing and sales of Ornua’s consumer brands including Ireland’s most successful food export: Kerrygold. It also manages the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products, the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers globally, and the implementation of de-risking and trading strategies to manage market volatility. Our co-operative ethos lies at the heart of how we do business as a purpose and values-led organisation, creating value for Irish dairy farming families.Career Progression including Global Mobility opportunities.Why This Role Is Valuable:As our Multi Skilled Engineer you will; Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities on machinery and equipment in line with the scheduled plan, ensuring that equipment is fit for purpose on a shift / daily basis and that associated paperwork is updated and tracked, as per PPM schedules to aid an efficient Maintenance Plan.Report all deficiencies to the Engineering Manager or relevant department Manager for action.Work with the line supervisors and operatives to assist & train in key areas of setup in order to minimise production downtime from machinery problems.Complete all relevant service sheets, breakdown reports and breakdown analysis to ensure that accurate information is recorded on all engineering activity and issues. Provide relevant information at shift handover to monitor daily works completed.Carry out repairs to production machinery and equipment. Provide support to other Engineers during major breakdowns or where a number of operational engineering priorities exist.Contribute to the development of relevant policies and procedures and Health & Safety documentation to ensure that all activity complies with relevant legislation.Take personal accountability (and provide advice and guidance to Production operatives) for the safe handling of plant and equipment.Ensure that all housekeeping standards are maintained on a daily basis in the work place and that all activity complies with relevant Health & Safety and on-site procedures.Complete risk assessments and method statements as and when required.Control activities of contractors onsite, ensuring that all permits to work and relevant documentation is completed, approved and executed in a safe manner and in line with company procedures.Work with the Engineering Manager to ensure that all spare parts are budgeted and accounted for, and that accurate records are maintained of parts used, striving to reduce contractor costs by completing work internally where possible.Follow all health and safety policies, practices and standards always, taking personal accountability for safe working practices.What You Bring To The Role:Electrical skills and Mechanical skillsElectrical control systems knowledgeExperience of Engineering and Maintenance within a Food Production environmentMinimum of Level 3 qualification in Engineering/Maintenance (or equivalent).Detailed understanding of manufacturing processesWorking knowledge of PLCsOur interview process is designed to be thorough yet supportive.
