At Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy, we are looking to recruit a passionate Cover Supervisor, who is confident and able to work with our young people in a classroom environment to ensure that quality learning takes place during staff absence.

Our Cover Supervisors supervise groups of students in the classroom whose work has been set and ensure learning takes place in a calm and orderly environment. This is an important role to provide additional support to both staff and students across the key stages and will involve deployment to various departments in the Academy on an ‘as required’ basis. On those days when cover for whole classes is not required, duties will include supporting students alongside subject teachers in the classroom and assisting with supporting students in other areas across the academy as required.

Working hours: Monday 8:15am - 4:15pm, Tuesday to Thursday 8.15am - 3.20pm, Friday 8.15am - 2.00pm

About our Academy: Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy (OSCA) is located in the Metropolitan Borough of Sandwell, and in very close proximity to the centre of Birmingham. It is a slightly larger than average, 11-16 co-educational academy with approximately 1,200 students. It has grown over the last few years and is now full and oversubscribed in every year group for the seventh consecutive year. The academy’s reputation locally is excellent. OSCA was graded as a good academy, for the third time in 2023. The academy has been recognised with a myriad of awards over recent years, including the Investors In People Gold Award, The Quality In Careers Standard Gold Award, The Basic Skills Quality Mark, and the Artsmark Gold Award.

This is a fantastic time to join the vibrant and caring learning community at OSCA. Its strong code of values guides its work and creates a secure and safe environment where all students can thrive and succeed.
