We are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our highly dedicated SEND team. Under the direction of the SENCO and teaching staff, duties will include in‑class support for SEND pupils to give them every opportunity to make expected progress, preparing individualized and/or differentiating teaching resources for use in class. The role involves working 30 hours per week, term time plus 1 week (39 working weeks per year).
What we are looking for:
- An individual who has a very flexible and enthusiastic approach to suit the varying and sometimes complex needs of our pupils.
- A confident communicator who can liaise with parents and carers in a manner that will support our SEND pupils in their learning.
- Experience of working within any of the primary Key Stages – EYFS/KS1/KS2.
- A broad and balanced education and evidence, via original certificates, that you hold Level 2 (or above) qualifications in Maths and English.
- The ability to address the needs of our pupils by supporting them in overcoming their barriers to learning.
- An awareness of emotional wellbeing and empathy for pupils, to understand their needs and respond accordingly.
- Rigorous in maintaining high standards of behaviour and attitude and model this.
- Excellent communication skills and a high degree of emotional intelligence.
- The ability to use IT to a proficient standard.
- The ability to work well in a team and independently.
