OIEA is an inclusive Academy seeking to appoint a passionate and experienced Numeracy Intervention Lead to support pupils with special educational needs. These needs may include challenges related to cognition and learning, social, emotional and mental health, communication and interaction, as well as physical, sensory, and lower literacy skills. The selected candidate will engage with the Support Centre Manager, SENCO, and both pastoral and teaching staff, attend meetings, and collaborate with external specialist agencies to provide effective support for our pupils' success. This role is part time 24 hours per week, term time only. The working hours are 8.35am - 3.05pm Mondays and Thursdays, 8.35am - 3.35pm Tuesdays and 8.35am - 2.35pm Fridays.

Responsibilities

  • Lead in implementing and adjusting planned learning activities in the support centre and classroom.
  • Support independent learning and inclusion for all students.
  • Provide feedback on pupil progress and assist in developing student support plans.
  • Work across a variety of learning environments, from Student Support centre, classrooms, outdoor learning spaces.
  • Lead numeracy interventions that develop functional and life-skills based numeracy.
  • Create, prepare and organise intervention materials and resources to support the intended outcomes for students.
