Required for a September 2026 start, we are seeking to appoint a dedicated, well-qualified and highly motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our SEN Team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting our students to overcome barriers to learning. They will need to establish and maintain strong working relationships with students, their families and external agencies. The working pattern for this position is Monday to Thursday 8:00am - 4:00pm and Friday 8:00am - 3:30pm. You will be working school term time plus one week which equates to 39 working weeks per year.
Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and other stakeholders, leading targeted intervention sessions in key subjects across the secondary age range and providing feedback on student progress.
Qualifications and Experience
- Has curriculum knowledge and experience to support and lead learning activities for students
- Has some experience of planning, preparing and delivering work to specified groups of students and/or whole classes
- Has excellent communication skills
- Has the ability to stay calm under pressure and manage unexpected challenges
- Is able to support students with their sensory needs, emotional regulation and social communication skills
- Is able to effectively communicate with students, parents and staff
- Is keen to make a difference to the education of OBA students
