Here at Brownhills Ormiston Academy, we are looking for an exceptional Head of Year (Non‑Teaching) to provide strong, supportive and high‑profile leadership with overall responsibility for behaviour, attendance, safeguarding and wellbeing support of a year group.

We are looking for a well‑organised, reliable, trustworthy and enthusiastic individual who has a proven track record of working effectively with children and young people. The ideal candidate must demonstrate that they have knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures to join our safeguarding team as a Deputy DSL. You will demonstrate the motivation required to work with children, resilience in dealing with challenging behaviours, and possess the ability to form and maintain appropriate supportive relationships. You will have the confidence and skills to manage the behaviour and attendance of a year group in a secondary school. You will have the knowledge and skills to provide pastoral and wellbeing support for all students. You will have Designated Safeguarding Lead (Level 3) certificate or willingness to train.

The role will be varied and busy and ideally suited to an organised and efficient individual with an eye for detail and accuracy, and who understands the importance of confidentiality and integrity in the workplace. The successful candidate will possess clear communication skills and the ability to relate well to both students and staff. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate commitment, energy, and drive to join our team and work to provide positive learning experiences for all our students.
