We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Criminology and Social Sciences to join our secondary school team, with a primary focus on Key Stage 5 (KS5). The successful candidate will inspire and challenge students, fostering a deep understanding of criminology and social sciences while developing critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills. If you are able to motivate all students to achieve or exceed their target grades, if you are passionate about Criminology, have an interest in being at the cutting edge and are driven to ensure students receive the best possible experience, then this job is for you.

You will be joining an excellent Social Sciences department that has a relentless focus on raising achievement. This is an exciting opportunity for an ECT or an experienced teacher. (All our ECTs are well supported by an excellent induction programme).

Located in Cradley Heath, West Midlands, Ormiston Forge Academy is a thriving secondary academy and sixth form. Responsibilities
  • Teach Criminology and Social Sciences with a primary focus on Key Stage 5 (KS5).
  • Lead on the delivery, planning and assessment of Level 3 Criminology.
  • Ability to teach other social sciences (particularly A Level Psychology).
  • Be versatile to take on a range of activities and work within a collaborative team.
  • Maintain high expectations of all learners and support them to achieve or exceed target grades.
  • Teach out of subject if required.
About You / Qualifications
  • Qualified Teacher Status (ability to teach to Key Stage 5).
  • Strong capability to deliver KS5 Criminology and general social science teaching.
  • Ability to lead, plan and assess Level 3 Criminology and contribute to the broader Social Sciences department.
  • Flexibility to teach other social sciences as needed.
  • Collaborative mindset with high expectations for learners.
