Be part of a team where passion meets purpose. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and organised part-time Reading Mentor and Lead Librarian. Supporting pupils with their reading is an important part of school life. This role involves tutoring identified pupil groups in reading development and delivering reading intervention sessions using the Lexonik intervention package (training provided). The Librarian element requires a love of reading and the ability to engage young readers to complement our current reading strategy. The academy has a well-stocked library and a dedicated team of librarians, with successful reading projects led by the librarian, including Carnegie shadowing and a peer reading programme. The role is line managed by the Head of English and works closely with the SENDCO.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver reading tutoring to identified pupil groups using the Lexonik intervention package (training provided).
- Lead and manage library activities; promote reading engagement and support the school reading strategy.
- Engage with pupils to build supportive, respectful relationships; participate in reading projects (e.g., Carnegie shadowing, peer reading).
- Work closely with the Head of English and the SENDCO to support pupil reading development.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Interest or experience in teaching reading and in library management.
- Organised, proactive, able to motivate and build positive relationships with young people.
