Work where it matters most, achieve what matters more. An opportunity has arisen for a committed and conscientious individual to join our Humanities Faculty as a History teacher on a maternity cover basis for the autumn term only. The role is offered at 0.8 FTE, working Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. This role is suitable for both ECTs and experienced teachers. You should have a passion for your subject, be innovative in the classroom, and be ambitious for your students and your own professional development. We are a large and inclusive school that values professional development and driving excellence in teaching and learning.

Responsibilities
  • Teach History within the Humanities Faculty to a high standard for the autumn term on a maternity cover basis (0.8 FTE).
  • Plan and deliver lessons that are engaging, innovative, and aligned with the KS3–KS5 curriculum and the needs of a diverse student cohort.
  • Monitor student progress, provide feedback, and contribute to department development and student success.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a high-quality, inclusive learning experience for all students.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Qualified teacher with the ability to teach History to the relevant key stages; suitable for both Early Career Teachers and experienced teachers.
  • A passion for the subject, strong subject knowledge, and a commitment to professional development.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and to contribute to a positive school ethos.

All successful appointments will be subject to suitability checks in accordance with KCSIE, including identity, Right to Work, qualifications, online checks, prohibition check, two references and enhanced DBS check including Children’s Barred List.
