OHA is seeking a Lead Teacher of Science to support quality of education within the department. The Lead Teacher plays a crucial role in achieving this vision by leading and developing high-quality teaching and learning both within their subject area and as a key member of the Academy's leadership team.
In addition to the duties and responsibilities of a classroom teacher, key responsibilities will include:
- Leading outstanding teaching and learning
- Raising student achievement and engagement
- Developing staff expertise through coaching
- Leading professional development and continuous improvement in area, and school wide
- Spotlighting best practice and leading staff development
- Conducting learning walks and contributing to whole school quality assurance
- Providing structured coaching, feedback and professional development for colleagues
- Supporting the implementation and development of the Academy's whole-school lesson structure
- Attending dedicated SLT meetings to present analysis of data
- Leading morning briefing sessions focussed on professional development
