At our Ormazabal UK facilities, we design and manufacture complete solutions for our customers, from medium voltage connection points to complex solutions such as energy storage substations, electric vehicle superchargers, solar power substations, and wind farm substations.
The electrical design engineer will design and manage the project from start to finish, from the first contact with the customer for the definition of the solution to the follow-up of the order during installation and testing.

- Electrical design engineering
- Creation of diagrams and schematics required by the project (single line diagrams, Keyline diagrams, AC & DC, wiring, etc.)
- Work in collaboration with production engineering to create the list of materials and component specifications
- Be involved and perform tasks under guidance from others during the tendering, design, manufacturing, FAT, installation, and commissioning activities of a project
Required Skills
- Formal engineering qualification
- Knowledge of AUTOCAD; knowledge of EPLAN would be of interest
- Knowledge of the UK standards and presentation of electrical schematics within the MV/HV industry
- Protection and control systems design experience according to DNO standards in the UK
- Good knowledge of protection relays would be an advantage; experience creating settings and PSL files would be viewed favourably
- Knowledge of LV electrical installations and 18th edition wiring regulations would be useful but not essential
- Awareness of relevant ENA standards would be advantageous
- A flexible approach; we sometimes have to assist with and cover colleagues’ duties
- We work as a team to achieve our company goals
- The candidate may be required to occasionally visit sites and possibly our factories in Spain
