THE POSITION
This is a pivotal new role designed to strengthen Orlebar Brown’s logistics capability. Reporting to the Head of Logistics & Warehousing, the Logistics Manager will take ownership of day-to-day logistics operations, manage key 3PL and freight provider relationships, and lead continuous improvement across inbound, outbound, and reverse logistics.
You will be hands-on yet highly strategic, ensuring operational excellence while supporting the Head of Logistics in longer-term projects, financial planning, and capability development. You’ll act as a deputy for the function when required, providing leadership, structure, and analytical rigour to the team and processes.
This role is ideal for someone ambitious, commercially minded, and ready to operate as the “right hand” of the Head of Logistics, while being able to represent the function independently with senior stakeholders, including the CFO.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Logistics Operations Leadership
- Oversee daily inbound and outbound logistics performance across all channels (ecommerce, retail, wholesale, marketplace).
- Own key 3PL and freight-forwarding relationships, ensuring service delivery meets agreed KPIs and SLAs.
- Monitor operational performance dashboards and drive issue resolution and process improvements.
- Manage and continuously improve transport, shipping, and customs processes to optimise cost, service, and compliance.
Strategic Planning and Improvement
- Support the Head of Logistics in designing and implementing the logistics strategy for scalability and efficiency.
- Lead projects to optimise fulfilment flows and system integrations (3PL system to ERP)
- Identify and deliver cost-saving initiatives without compromising customer experience.
- Analyse and benchmark logistics costs, producing clear recommendations and business cases.
Financial & Commercial Control
- Partner with Finance, Merchandising and Production teams on logistics budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Manage supplier invoicing and cost control, ensuring accuracy and identifying trends or risks.
- Support negotiations with logistics and warehousing vendors to optimise cost and service balance.
- Work closely with IT and Finance on continuous improvement and automation opportunities.
- Deputise for the Head of Logistics in meetings and decision-making when required.
EXPERIENCE
- 7+ years’ experience in logistics or supply chain, ideally within premium/luxury retail with global and ecommerce presence. Proven experience managing 3PLs and international freight operations.
- Excellent analytical, commercial, and project management skills.
- Strong understanding of customs, trade compliance, and global transport modes.
- Skilled in ERP/WMS systems (NetSuite advantageous) and advanced Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and manage upwards.
- Strategic thinker with a proactive, improvement-focused mindset.
- Confident communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
