Legal Counsel
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day legal support across departments including commercial, product launches, operations, HR and compliance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts (e.g., NDAs, supplier agreements, partnership deals and Inter company agreements).
- Deal with any customer complaint escalations and legal disputes. Assist with KYC escalations and sign off.
- Support the Head of Legal on regulatory compliance, risk, and licensing matters.
- Help implement and manage legal processes using tools like ClickUp and shared legal templates.
- Maintain and organise legal documentation and databases.
- Monitor legal developments and advise internal teams on regulatory changes and implications and update our business T&c’s and website material.
- Work closely with the Head of Legal on special projects and high-priority legal initiatives.
- Support with corporate governance, including board minutes and filings (where applicable).
- Step into a generalist legal admin role when needed — no job too small.
About You
- Qualified solicitor (UK or equivalent) with 2+ years PQE (experience in-house at a startup or tech firm a plus).
- Comfortable working in an evolving startup environment with shifting priorities.
- Strong commercial awareness and pragmatic legal judgement.
- Highly organised, proactive, and capable of managing a wide-ranging workload.
- Experience with basic compliance matters (e.g. data protection, consumer regulations) a strong plus.
- Self-sufficient and resourceful — you’ll often be the first point of contact for legal queries.
- Familiarity with tools like ClickUp, Google Workspace, and contract management systems preferred.
