Support for Learning Assistant
30 hours per week, Term Time
Temporary up to 19 December 2025
£28,225 – £28,444 pro rata / £15.47 – £15.59 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)
Suitable candidates are sought for the above vacancy for a Support for Learning Assistant to work in Stromness Academy. As a member of the school team you will be expected to work with pupils, colleagues and parents.
We would consider applications for those willing to work on a job share/part time basis.
We require candidates to have experience in working with young people and to be committed to supporting, encouraging and including all children in achieving their potential.
You should have a good general standard of education including evidence of competency in literacy and numeracy.
You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
This post is subject to Level 2 Disclosure Check with PVG for working in a regulated role with children.
