£41,481 - £45,365 / £21.50 - £23.51 per hour (including shift allowance and Distant Islands Allowance)
You will be required to carry out tasks and duties delegated by the Registered Manager in an effective and efficient manner, ensuring at all times the social and domestic care needs of service users. You will observe the principles of confidentiality in all aspects of practice and ensure the safety and comfort of service users, attending to their general care and wellbeing, including assisting with personal care in keeping with the standards of care required by the Care Inspectorate.
Previous experience in social care is essential and experience in a management or supervisory role is desirable.
You should hold an SVQ 3 Social Services and Health or other relevant professional qualification and registration to meet SSSC professional qualification requirements for a Supervisor in a Care Home Service for Adults. You should also hold a Supervisory or Management qualification to meet the SSSC management qualifications criteria or be able to achieve this within 5 years of initial appointment.
You must register with the SSSC as Supervisor in Care Home Service for Adults within 3 months of appointment.
You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
The post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with adults.
