Sanday Youth Club is seeking a General Youth Worker for 2 hours per week, 20 weeks per year. This is a temporary position until 31 March 2027, with a salary of £30,060 - £30,662 pro rata (£16.47 - £16.80 per hour). The above amounts include Distant Islands Allowance.
You will be reporting to a Community Learning and Development Officer. We are happy to talk flexible working, where possible.
The role of the General Youth Worker is to provide support to the Senior Youth Worker in developing a varied weekly programme of activities, in consultation with club members. You should have experience and an understanding of working with children and young people in an informal setting. If you are keen to get involved in youth work and wish to further develop your current experience in supporting and working with young people, we would be delighted to hear from you.
The appointed person will be required to attend other meetings and will be offered a comprehensive training programme, over and above club sessions. The necessary qualification, experience and skills required for this role are detailed in the ‘must have’ section of the attached job profile. These criteria are used for decisions on shortlisting and appointment of applicants.
This post is a regulated role with children and requires Level 2 Disclosure with PVG scheme membership.
