Hours are offered on an as and when required basis.
£14.94 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance). A shift allowance will be paid for unsocial hours worked where appropriate.
We require individuals to join the team on a relief basis and provide support across all of the Council’s museums around Orkney, including The Orkney Museum, St Magnus Cathedral, Scapa Flow Museum on Hoy and Kirbuster Farm Museum.
Duties include:
- Site care and security
- Grounds maintenance
- Dealing with visitors
- Shop sales
The majority of hours offered would be between April and October.
A good knowledge of Orkney’s history and heritage and experience in dealing with the public, and of retail would be an advantage.
You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirement of the Service.
