Relief Social Care Assistant
Hours are offered on an as and where required basis
£15.26 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)
A shift allowance will be paid for unsocial hours worked where appropriate
We are seeking to recruit someone who is highly motivated to provide high quality services to older people in our extra care facility. You will be required to undertake tasks as delegated by senior staff, but also need to be able to use your own initiative at times.
The post requires adherence to Care Standards and Codes of Practice as well as a positive attitude towards optimum fulfilment of older people’s lives.
Previous experience in social care is highly desirable.
You should hold a minimum of SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or other relevant qualifications to enable registration with SSSC as a Support Worker in a Housing Support Service with Care at Home for Adults, or be able to achieve this within 5 years of appointment.
You must also register with SSSC as a Support Worker within 3 months of appointment.
You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with adults.
