Advert ORKNEY HEALTH AND CARE St Rognvald\'s House Relief Senior Social Care Worker Hours are offered on an as and when required basis £***** per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance) A shift allowance will be paid for unsocial hours worked where appropriate You will be required to carry out tasks and duties delegated by the Registered Manager in an effective and efficient manner, ensuring at all times the social and domestic care needs of service users.
You will observe the principles of confidentiality in all aspects of practice and ensure the safety and comfort of service users, attending to their general care and wellbeing, including assisting with personal care in keeping with the standards of care required by the Care Inspectorate.
Senior Social Care Workers are required to provide standby cover.
Previous experience in social care is essential and experience in a management or supervisory role is desirable.
You should hold an SVQ 3 Social Services and Healthcare, or equivalent level qualification, to enable registration with the SSSC.
You should also hold a supervisory or management qualification to meet the SSSC management qualifications criteria or be able to achieve this within 3 years of initial appointment.
You must register with the SSSC as Supervisor in Care Home Services for Adults within 3 months of appointment.
You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirement of the Service.
This post is subject to Level 2 Disclosure Check with PVG for working in a regulated role with protected adults.
