UHI Orkney is seeking applications from a suitably qualified and experienced person for the Relief Lecturer post. The postholder will undertake lecturing duties and the associated functions of preparation, assessment, verification, subject specialist guidance together with the support to which students are entitled from professional educators carrying out their stewardship roles, and curriculum development and updating. Develop and deliver theory and practical lessons to learners in a range of environments including classroom, workshop or external customer premises.

Suitable qualifications would include SVQ, HND or other SCQF level 8 qualification in relevant curriculum area or a minimum of 5 years relevant experience as detailed in the person specification. We are interested in considering potential applicants with subject experience in the Agriculture and Horticulture areas.

You should hold or achieve a Teaching Qualification in Further Education (TQFE) or other recognised equivalent lecturing/teaching qualification at SCQF level 9, recognised by the General Teaching Council for Scotland. You should hold or have the requirement to achieve registration with GTCS as a College Lecturer, either Full or Provisional (Conditional) in line with NJNC Circular STL 02/24.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service. This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
