Roads and Grounds Operations

Relief Driver / Roadworker 2, Hoy

Hours are offered on an as and when required basis throughout the winter maintenance season

\\n

£15.38 / £15.81 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)

\\n

A shift allowance will be paid for unsocial hours worked where appropriate

Interested parties for this position must be resident on the island of Hoy.

\\n

We are looking for a Relief Driver / Road Worker 2 on the Island of Hoy. This position is to assist the Team Leader Operations in the delivery of a safe, compliant, effective winter maintenance service which is undertaken by the Roads and Grounds Operations Team.

\\n

You will be working on a week on week off rota to assist with the delivery of gritting and, where required, reactive repairs associated with flooding and storm damage.

\\n

During this period you will be paid an additional weekly stand by allowance for the week that you are on duty.

\\n

You must have experience with health and safety and safe vehicle operation, along with experience working with the public and colleagues.

\\n

To be appointed at Grade C: You must hold a full and current Class B Driving Licence and will be required to achieve a Class C LGV Driving Licence within 2 years of appointment.

\\n

To be appointed at Grade D: You must hold a full and current Class C Driving Licence and Driver CPC.

\\n
